Eric E. Renner
Eric is a trial attorney who represents businesses, business owners, investors, executives and individuals in complex commercial disputes. He focuses his practice on high-stakes business litigation, including contract disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, business torts, fraud and fiduciary duty claims, commercial real estate disputes, restrictive covenant and trade secret matters, and intellectual property disputes.
Eric is frequently called upon when a dispute threatens a client’s business, ownership interests, investment, real estate transaction, competitive position or professional reputation. He brings substantial courtroom experience to those matters, including trial preparation, witness examinations, evidentiary hearings, emergency injunction proceedings, dispositive motions, arbitration and trial. His approach is practical and trial-focused: he evaluates each matter through the lens of how the facts, documents, witnesses, and legal theories will ultimately present to a judge, jury, arbitrator or opposing party.
Eric regularly appears in state and federal courts and arbitration forums throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and across the country. He represents clients through all phases of litigation, from pre-suit strategy and emergency relief through discovery, summary judgment, trial, appeal and post-judgment enforcement.
Clients value Eric’s ability to combine strategic judgment with direct courtroom advocacy. Whether pursuing claims, defending against them or positioning a matter for resolution, he focuses on protecting the client’s business objectives while preparing every case as though it may need to be tried.
