Two D&S Attorneys Lead RI Bar Association Programs

Two D&S attorneys will again be part of the Rhode Island Bar Association’s upcoming Annual Meeting in June of 2024.

Patrick Guida will moderate the “Commercial Law Update” with a panel of attorneys who will address various state and Federal court decisions related to commercial law from around the United States, with some emphasis on Rhode Island decisions, for which written decisions were issued during the last 12 months.

Joelle Rocha will be part of a three-person speaking panel on “Recent Amendments to Land Use Laws: How it Started, How it’s Going.” The panelists will review the 2023 amendments to Rhode Island’s enabling statutes for land use and discuss how the new laws affect  clients’ development applications. The speakers will include a focus on how municipalities have incorporated the recent statutory changes into new ordinances and regulations. Additionally, they address pending legislation affecting land use matters and the Rhode Island Superior Court’s new Land Use Calendar.

D&S attorneys are frequent presenters and prolific writers about issues at the intersection of business and finance, employment and human resources, real estate and land use, and beyond.
