Duffy & Sweeney was proud to represent Rhode Island Public Radio — aka “The Public’s Radio” — in its historic merger with Rhode Island PBS Foundation (RI PBS) last month.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced his office’s approval of The Public’s Radio’s application to merge with RI PBS on April 23, 2024, a first under the Public Radio Conversion Act of 2005.

The successful merger of these leading Rhode Island public media organizations resulted in creation of a single integrated public media platform that will define and expand public television, radio, and digital media, as well as support and promote high quality local journalism for the future generations of Rhode Island.
