In fact, Stacey Nakasian was featured in a Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly article on “Force Majeure” in 2020 and provided in-depth commentary for Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly regarding a 2021 Superior Court ruling in what may be Rhode Island’s first ruling in a business interruption insurance coverage.

- D&S represented an insurance broker (that provides professional insurance) when it was sued by a software developer over unpaid invoices. D&S and our client countersued for damages resulting from faulty work. Ultimately, the dispute was settled for a small fraction of the software developer’s claim with funding, in part, by the software developer’s errors and omissions insurance policy
- The firm represented an insurer on behalf of a RI property owner in a case where the owner of an exclusive, high-income residential neighborhood on the waterfront prevailed on all accounts on summary judgment. The easement was brought by a trust seeking to prevent the property owner from using an express, recorded easement.
- D&S represented a regional insurance agency against one of its former agents who solicited the agency’s clients in breach of his non-compete and non-solicitation agreements. The firm’s attorneys obtained a temporary restraining order and, ultimately, a favorable consent order protecting the insurance agency’s business
