Patrick Guida was appointed to serve as one of the three Rhode Island members of The National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, also commonly known as the Uniform Law Commission. ULC Commissioners – three per state – must be lawyers recognized as highly qualified in the practice of law. Practicing lawyers, judges, law professors and legislators serve as members. The mission of the ULC is to research, draft and promote the enactment of uniform state laws. Notable examples of ULC accomplishments are the enactment and numerous revisions of the Uniform Commercial Code.
