Commitment to Community

The attorneys at Duffy & Sweeney are deeply committed to both civic and charitable activities where they work and live. They contribute their time and energy as well as support a wide range of community groups financially. These organizations range from Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State to HopeHealth (formerly Home Care & Hospice) to the Narragansett Council of Boy Scouts to Amos House, where the firm fielded a team for the Running of the Bulls event (see team pic here).

For many years, the firm has supported and continues to support the Providence Preservation Society, Roger Williams Park Zoo, the Rhode Island Children’s Museum.

Other non-profits where our attorneys serve as board members and volunteers include:

• Young Voices, a Rhode Island-based non-profit organization that transforms urban youth into powerful advocates, partnering with major leaders to create systemic reform and policy change that improve the lives of thousands of youth across the state.
• The Institute for the Study & Practice of Nonviolence, an innovative and nationally lauded organization that targets the reduction of gang or group related violence in Rhode Island.
• Button Hole, a non-profit initiative governed by The Golf Foundation of Rhode Island.
